HighScope offers onsite and web-based learning. Because of its hands‐on, active learning style, the training is equally successful with teachers and providers new to authentic child assessment procedures as well as those experienced with authentic assessment systems. COR Advantage Face-to-Face Training with Online Component
This training course includes one day of in-person training at your site followed by a two-week online component, teachers work about three hours per week. A HighScope instructor will teach participants how to write complete and objective anecdotes. They will learn about the COR Advantage categories along with how to share the Your Child’s Developmental Profile Report with families. In the online component, learners gain additional information about each item and level, and will practice scoring anecdotes. An inter-rater reliability test is included.
COR Advantage Online Training
Led by a HighScope facilitator, this four-week online training requires teachers to work about three hours per week. We will use video clips and expert instruction to teach participants how to write complete and objective anecdotes and score them accurately, how to identify COR Advantage categories and items, and how to share the Your Child’s Developmental Profile Report with families. An inter-rater reliability test is included.
Technical Assistance Training
A three-hour, hands-on experience that creates a greater understanding of the process of utilizing the online tool to its full capability. Expanding the knowledge provided by our free web-based support, we offer instruction on how to generate individual, group and family reports, create lesson plans, and how to utilize COR Advantage data to guide teaching. Technical assistance training must be provided in a location where computers and Internet access is available for each participant.
